About
Nicole A. B. Schick MD, FAAP, NABBLM-C
My early memories of doctoring my stuffed animals and pouring over a book of fetal development on our family bookshelf set the stage for my life’s work as a physician, pediatrician, and breastfeeding medicine specialist. In medical school and residency, my favorite training involved caring for infants and their families. It wasn’t until I gave birth to my twin boys that breastfeeding medicine became a personal and professional passion. My journey through early motherhood and breastfeeding was not without challenges, disappointments, and frustrations. And those experiences informed my decision to start a house call-based breastfeeding and lactation practice. I resolved to create a practice where I can walk alongside mothers and families during this sacred but vulnerable period. I want to empower them with the proper tools and specific knowledge to achieve their feeding and parenting goals. My reward is witnessing the tender and precious work of families nurturing and nourishing their newest member.
I was born and raised in Texas. After completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri, I attended medical school at the University of Texas. Upon graduation, I completed my pediatric residency at the University of Iowa, where I was selected as Chief Resident. Following residency, I worked in the newborn nursery prior to the birth of my twins. Soon after my twins were born, my family settled in the Pacific Northwest and we are grateful to put down roots in such a magical place. Since moving to the Seattle area, I have worked as an outpatient general pediatrician in a clinic setting. I’m double board certified in pediatrics and breastfeeding & lactation medicine. When not caring for patients, I enjoy being outside with my family, flower gardening, skiing, and appreciating art.
I look forward to giving a greater depth of care to your newest family member in the comfort of your home.
