Breastfeeding Medicine

Breastfeeding medicine is lactation care without limits

Breastfeeding medicine combines medical evaluation, evidence-based medicine, and lactation support to address breastfeeding challenges. As a board-certified breastfeeding medicine specialist, Dr. Schick is able to assist mothers and babies in all the ways a lactation consultant can and can additionally diagnose, order labs and diagnostic imaging, prescribe medications, and perform procedures when medically indicated. She draws on her years of experience as a board-certified pediatrician to understand the anatomic and physiologic abnormalities that can complicate the newborn period and breastfeeding. Her board-certification in breastfeeding and lactation medicine means that she has invested years of experience and education on issues specific to breastfeeding parents and children.
